Our Tower Repair Fund continues to go onwards and upwards! We were very fortunate last month and received more grants, including one for £10,000 which gave a great boost to the fund, taking our current total to £21,000.
One of the grants is specifically for removing the asbestos flue from the church tower which will enable us to install access ladders to all floors so that the tower can be inspected regularly for maintenance and repair.
We are also looking at how we can improve the heating at St Peter’s during the winter, especially as we know our gas boilers, which are situated in the tower, are inefficient and cannot last much longer . Another project that requires a considerable sum of money, but with prayer, some expert help and more fund-raising we will get there – if not for this winter then hopefully for 2020.
