Good Friday Reflection

Dear Church Family

Carol and I send Holy Week greetings. It is once again a different kind of Holy Week. Much continues to happen online, and I had the privilege of renewing my priestly vows (as clergy do in Holy Week every year). However, this happened online once again. Bishop Paul spoke helpfully about the song of hope that is on the lips and in the hearts of Christian people every Easter. This year that hope is more poignant than ever. We are meeting for in person worship this Sunday at 10.00 a.m. for a service of Holy Communion. One small difference, allowed by the gradual easing of restrictions, is that we are now able to sing outside. Ian Thompson will play for us on the church organ as we sing ‘Thine be the glory outside (bring warm clothes!). I attach a Good Friday Reflection that was prepared for last year for use at home. The church building will be open on Friday for private prayer and I have also printed a few copies if you want to come in at some point during the day and use it. I hope to see a good number of you on Sunday.

Blessings Alan
