Thy Kingdom Come
The Archbishops of Canterbury and York are inviting every parish, school, chaplaincy, retreat house, and praying community to join in ten days of prayer for evangelism and witness in the run up to Pentecost.
The prayer campaign, called Thy Kingdom Come, builds on last year’s campaign in dioceses, deaneries and churches across the country. This year it is a global event, with prayer beacon events planned in capital cities across the world.
Bishop Paul writes: “I am delighted to commend warmly to you ‘Thy Kingdom Come 2017’ an initiative of the Archbishops of York and Canterbury. The period from Ascension Day to Pentecost is a timely opportunity for us to join together in prayer for the empowering of the Holy Spirit as we seek to be effective witnesses to Jesus Christ. It is an excellent way for us to root in prayer our diocesan-wide commitment to ‘Growing Disciples wider, younger, deeper’.”
